21st Century Romance Menswear!

Group Work.

Not my favourite but this time i was put into a group with people with very similar tastes as me.
Its not usually this that bugs me its the co operation with people and organisation, i usually end up having to organise the group, but this time it was much simpler as the organising was spread out amongst three of us.
This was the group moodboard. Included fabric swatches and texture ideas.

A shot from the group presentation and our display of boards, these included an illustration including a full outfit and our range plan.
We also used objects to portray the mood of our theme, these were fur a rose and an encrusted skull.
We used black finger knitting to suspend out boards from the ceiling.

Myeloma Charity Fashion Show

This blog should have been posted a fair few months ago.
I contributed in a charity event in which my family organised
A year ago a dear family member of mine passed away from a cancer called myeloma.
It is a cancer of the bone marrow, it develops in the cells of bone marrow, specifically plasma cells these create vital blood cells for the body.

And since then we decided we would raise money to help research into this form of cancer which is not widely known.
We have thrown fairs, masquerade balls a toddlers 'mile for myeloma' and a fashion show!

The fashion show consisted of stalls and two shows one being mine of course.
At the fashion show i showed some of my previous work and the odd new piece that i am now currently selling.
A few friends helped out, some of which are familiar faces from my National Diploma end of year show.

Tim Burton in wonderland

I have always been inspired by the work of tim burton since i was little.
The hidden depth to his films and his eerie noticeable style.

I recently watched Alice in wonderland again, and found myself inspired by the amazingly detailed outfits used in the film.
During the film Alice's garments change due to her changing size various times.
This involves changed to the garments style but keeping the same materials.

Here are a few of the outfits featured in the film.

One of my favourite garments is when alice is befriended by the queen and she recieves this dress.

These outfits are the work of colleen atwood.

Her work is featured in most of tim burtons films, obviously a trustworthy friend of his.
Both Burton and Atwood have a similar eerie, gothic look.
She has worked on such films as sweeney todd, a series of unfortunate events, nine, sleepy hollow, edward sissorhands, planet of the apes,. the list goes on.

Unknowingly i am a massive fan of her work.
